Welcome

Thank you for visiting our campaign web site.  I intend to conduct a straight talk campaign and will provide the information you need to make an informed vote on Nov. 3rd. The page banner above says it clearly; this campaign will be about Real Issues, the kind of issues that affect the daily lives of our residents. Not Wedge Issues that are used to divide us.

A wedge issue is a social or political issue, often of a divisive or otherwise controversial nature, which is used by one political group to split apart or create a "wedge" in the support base of an opposing political group, with a view to enticing voters to give their support to the first group. The use of wedge issues gives rise to wedge politics.

These emotionally charged issues cause folk to loose focus on the larger picture and vote for issues that neither candidate my have any real hope of affecting at his or her level of political office.

Survey after survey conducted by both the Democratic and Republican Party show clearly that North Carolinas are more concerned about Jobs - Education - and Health Care, in almost equal proportions.

My pledge to the folks of the 91st district is that I will work each and every day while I'm your representative to find solutions for the real issues that we all agree need attentions.  I will work for improvements in Jobs, Education and Health Care.

Others want me to make a pledge to support their wedge issues, I can not do that.

Below is my pledge to the men, women and children of the 91st  to work for their best interest

A Pledge To Serve

To each and every resident of the 91st House District I Pledge the following, and do swear to be bound by the same:

1 To always represent all persons equally with out favoritism to any group or community.

2 To conduce the business of Representative in a open and transparent manner.

3 To always endeavor to obtain the maximum value for every tax dollar we pay.

4 To always work to reduce state taxes and fees. To always resisted tax increase.

5 To remember that your agenda not my agenda is my reason for being you delegate to the NC House.

6 To do the work you, the voters, need me to do for you and not the work of special interest.

7 To publish each year by the 31st day of Jan. a plan of representation.  To list the goals as defined by the voters and the current status on each.

8 To ask my self these four questions before each vote I take:

    A  Is it Needed?

    B  Is it Fair?

C  Will it help the residents of my district and/or NC?

D  Is it the will of the People?

I freely pledge with out hesitation or secret evasion of mind to be bound by these principles of good government
